Established in April, 1995 to continue the business of FIRST BASE INDUSTRIES CORPORATION that started in 1982, to engage in the business of non-vessel owner common carrier (NVOCC) of refrigerated goods and merchandize. For over 20 years the management and staff maintained and ensured the integrity of the cold chain and security of cargo during the transport of refrigerated products or produce through the use of all temperature controlled refrigerated container to and fro the different ports of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao including storage and land reefer van movements in these islands. Full complement of personnel and services required and needed to maintain the reefer containers to achieve a range of temperature requirements from heated, chiller, refrigerated, frozen from +30 to -25 oC while in transit or under storage/lease conditions and to ensure the security of the cargo between points of destination.
FBIC owns, leases and operates over 200 refrigerated containers of difference sizes and configuration. Of which the most notable are the exclusive use of Hi-Cube 20foot refrigerated container, the largest in the domestic trade movement. This type of JUMBO containers allows our clients to effectively reduce the FTH (freight, trucking and handling) cost in their movement of refrigerated cargo to their different points of destination,
Also part of the cavalcade of containers are the 10 foot refrigerated vans for the less than TEU container load, again only available with FBIC. This allows the exclusive use of the container to the destination desired without the need to consolidate cargoes. Thus saving time and cost: timely shipment - cargo leaves at the time needed, eliminating stock-out positions and cost - cargoes need not be air transported to destination.
Our complete and comprehensive service personnel and facilities allow us to effectively manage to ensure the integrity of the cold chain along the way. These investments in people and equipment only enhances the quality of the refrigerated container service before, after, in-transit, departs and arrives at its different ports of origin and destination at the required temperature and shape of the cargoes.
Pre-trip inspections are done every time a movement or storage is activated. Thus ensuring the quality of the container before reaching our clients. Such pre-trip inspections are not limited to the quality and soundness of the refrigeration units but includes the structural integrity of the box and also the cleanliness of the interior and exterior panels; no odors present.
Our branches perform and intercept active containers in different ports to inspect, secure, dispatch, monitor the temperature, security of the containers and deliver the cargoes in the most effective and efficient manner. Thus eliminating unattended containers at different ports.
Should containers be in-transit in other ports our branch operation requires the monitoring of these container as they move from port to port until it arrives at its final destination.
Such meticulous attention to details to ensure and enhance the products and/or produce arrives at the point of destination at quality and quantity expected.
In 2003, FBIC Reefer Corp. launched the first-ever forced ventilation container van, which is called the FAN VAN. These 20ft marine containers were designed and patented exclusively for the use of FBIC. As the market required a more simplified and cost effective method of shipping fruits and vegetable without the use of the cold chain, these FAN VANs introduces the COOL CHAIN for these heat sensitive products. As FAN VAN evacuates and eliminates the trapped heat of respiration, ethylene gas build-up and mold growth inside a closed container, the fruits and vegetables extend its shelf life. And as the produce are not entered into the cold chain, they do not prematurely wilt as they go through the chain of distribution where refrigeration is not available.
Successful shipments of tomato, banana, pomelo, onion, garlic, mango among others were moved. Specially, mango arrives at the point of destination without fruit burns, color burst, premature ripening and among all pilferages. The FAN VAN are forced ventilated, security of the door is possible. So security seals may be enforced, thus safeguarding the integrity of shippers load and count.
Thus FBIC Reefer Corp has full line up of services for all types of heat sensitive products or produce. Through the cold chain as low as -35 oC, the coolest box in town and cool chain that will prolong the shelf life of produce, with the most no. of reefer and fan van container for its exclusive use, in diversified configuration: 10, 20, 40, and 45ft, trailer chassis designed to carry two 20ft reefer van with room for generator to spare, generators for land reefer van movements, its extensive network, branches and most of all its dedicated, well trained and motivated personnel.
FBIC Reefer Corp. continues to lead its industry with new innovations, quality services, and product diversity in the years to come. |
